How to Create Your Own Invisible Theater

The new re-imagined concept of a home theater has undergone a constant evolution and growth in recent years.  At one time a home theater may only had been available to the rich and famous.  However, as technology has evolved and has become more and more affordable, these technologies have become more accessible to the common man.  This trend has not only shown a desire to have the toys that comprise the ideal home theater but has also included the desire to build a creative and functional theater environment.

In  this day and age of satellite TV and cable subscribers viewing programming on "home improvement" "Flip This House" and my favorite "Holmes on Homes" many have taken up the hammer to undergo their own projects.

In creating a home theater or "media room" many enthusiasts have found it hard to explain to their spouse the massive amount of equipment and cables.  This madness can easily become a hazard especially if there are small kids in the house.

If you are building the environment from the studs-up to the finished product, you are presented with the fortunate opportunity with proper planning to eliminate those concerns, while achieving an aesthetically pleasing room as well.

The plan would involve to include in your design of the framing of the wall ample space  to house speakers beGoo Systems Screen Goohind the surface upon which you would mount your screen.  However, the novelty of the idea comes from the use of a product called Screen Goo made by Goo Systems.

Goo kits are priced around $100-200 but they are well worth money with the savings of cost and aggrevation.

With this specialized premium paint you can create a smooth surface on which to flawlessly display a projector image.  The speakers are hidden behind the surface of the wall.  When the projector is turned off a pristine is left behind with no visible sign of any AV equipment.

Stay tuned for future Invisible Theater articles at Zackadoo.
